Hello and Welcome to Ardo Christmas Trees
We are Jean and Roger Glennie of Hillhead of Ardo Farm; a family farm just outside Methlick in Aberdeenshire and we are passionate about all things Christmas! Our goal is to help everyone make special memories at this magical time of year.
Ardo Christmas Trees started at our current location in 2019, although our association with Christmas Trees started in 2010! It has developed over the years to a mini Christmas village, with a great range of cut Nordman fir Christmas trees – all grown in Aberdeenshire; and our very own grown living Christmas Trees. There are shops crammed full with decorations, crafts and gifts – all of which are loving made by a great range of crafters and nearby businesses located within a 30-mile radius. There’s a Christmas Tree mini-maze which is great entertainment for all ages and plenty of space and time to browse and relax before making your all-important Christmas decisions.

Locally Grown, Nordmann Christmas Trees
All our trees here on the farm are being grown to be sold as “living trees”. This means that they have been planted in a growing pot in 2020 and will continue in that same growing medium until ready for sale. The root-ball on these trees is well established and these Christmas Trees should be able to be grown at home well after the festive season.
Our cut Christmas Trees are all grown in Aberdeenshire, and are low-to-no needle drop variety.

Bring Back Service.
For those of you that prefer to have a “living” tree, but don’t have either the space or the inclination to grow it on after the festive season, Ardo Christmas Trees and our Bring Back Service is your natural choice.

For those of you that prefer to have a “living” tree, but don’t have either the space or the inclination to grow it on after the festive season, Ardo Christmas Trees and our Bring Back Service is your natural choice.
We will re-open on specified days in January to allow you the opportunity to give your living Christmas Tree it’s forever home. At Ardo Christmas Trees we will replant any “living” trees in the plantation to provide shelter belts for the wildlife and windbreaks to protect the younger saplings.
Please keep in mind that the tree must still be living when you bring it back, so remember to show it some TLC whilst it is with you. And as in any plant, the “living” trees will need to be regularly watered. This is best done from the base to allow the water to seep up to all the roots of the tree. Also remember that if your tree is going to be successfully replanted, then do not spray the needles with anything other than water. Snow Effect or Glitter sprays will prevent the needle breathing and cause the tree to die prematurely.
Despite the increased cost of living and inflation, we have decided to hold the costs of our Christmas Trees to the same as 2023. Its our way of making sure that everyone is "making memories with Ardo Christmas Trees"
